Every day we are offered various goods and services through various ads to the extent that we almost do not note them and take them as a part of our everyday life. In order to maintain and enlarge the profits new markets must be found. This essay attempts to show that one of these new markets was the gay and lesbian market. By creating this new market the capitalistic society recognized gays and lesbians as consuming subjects, as citizens of means and taste.
