There has been a considerable amount of argument on the causes of social change with some philosophers and sociologists believing that social change slowly develops within a society while other suggest that the seeds of social change are present within all social institutions form the very beginning. Two socio-philosophical thinkers that have dealt with the topic of social change are Max Weber and Georg Simmel. Both researchers have different areas of interest with Weber being more interested in the relationships between religion and economic ideology while Simmel is more interested in the way society's structure themselves."
