The attention that he seeks to attain reflects his goal of finding those in power, helping these 'sinners' to understand the plight of the poor and the helpless through his example of love and forgiveness. His command over Levi is relates the divine power Jesus had to consume and convert those that did not initially believe by his message. 2. Jesus has provided a message that it is the rich who are truly the sick ones within his quest to enlighten those with his love. He now attempts to call upon the Jewish tax collectors that despise him the most for his teachings."
