The Declaration of Independence epitomizes the American dream. We all have the chance to become what and who we want to become?we all have the chance to self-determine and make the most of what we were given. Unfortunately, the government and the people of the United States have not always upheld these ideals. Racism has existed in American society (and world society) as far back as history can date, but in recent years, laws have been passed to end discrimination, particularly in the workplace. Affirmative action laws were implemented with good intentions, and achieved great things. Unfortunately, at this point in time, affirmative action laws are doing more harm than good."
